Eivissa or Ibiza is also the name of the capital. In the city you can visit museums, parks, shopping areas, the promenade and especially the walled city, 'Dalt Vila' and its central square. Declared a world heritage site by UNESCO, this historical centre has, in recent years, become a place for the celebration of events, festivals and concerts. The perfect place for a stroll through narrow streets. For enjoying the gastronomy, but especially, for discovering and contemplating architecture, art and local traditions.
Don't forget to visit the Old Market (Mercat Vell) situated in front of the Portal de Ses Taules, one of the entrances to the old town.
Around the old town and inside its walls you can experience art in many different ways. Modern art and history museums are a must in order to get to know more about the city’s roots and culture.
The capital occupies an area of eleven square kilometres and its coastline is divided into three beaches: Talamanca, Figueretas and Playa d'en Bossa.
