Here are Visit Ibiza’s top nine things to do while visiting Ibiza…
- Its Culture and Heritage: Culture: discover the real ibicenco life style through the years and their coexistence with the hippies, which had a great part in the original white island’s fame. Heritage: Dalt Vila, Ibiza’s UNESCO Old Town with the Cathedral and the Castle which is undergoing works to become a “Parador” (a kind of luxury hotel, usually located in a historic building such as amonastery or castle). A great way to discover its history is with the dramatized visits to Dalt Vila organised by Ibiza’s City Hall.
- Its Beaches: Ibiza is surrounded by great long famous beaches but also has the most amazing, almost private, “calas” (coves) scattered around its great green and blue coast. The West coast (San José), includes some of the most stunning and famous on the area. From the famous Es Cavallet & Salinas to Cala Comte & Cala Bassa, or the amazing views you get from Cala D’Hort and the stunning turquoise water from Cala Gració & Cala Gracioneta or Cala Salada & Cala Saladeta. To the North (San Juan), samall coves such as Cala Xarraca & Cala Xuclar or for the best sunset experience at Benirrás. To the East (Santa Eulalia), family friendly spots such as Es Figueral or Aguas Blancas or a fisherman cove like Pou des Lleó.
Its Nature: Salinas’ Natural Park where you can spot the flamingos as you walk through its salt flats, or it’s wonderful countryside and small villages full with typical ibicenco white houses and churches. Don’t miss on anything and rent your car to tour around the island
- Its Food: Traditional ibicenco and Spanish food. From “Sofrit pages” to Tapas, from Paella to local produced wine or “catch of the day”.
